Commissioner’s Advisory Committees

The expression of interest period for the 2010 Advisory Committees is now closed. An announcement on the Committees will be made by the Commissioner in mid-December.

Two Advisory Committees of children and/or young people will be appointed next year to help ensure the work of the Commissioner continues to be guided by the views of the State’s youngest citizens.

Two existing groups of children and/or young people will be appointed as the 2010 Committees, one from the metropolitan area and another from regional Western Australia.

The Committees will provide information to the Commissioner and her staff in three ways:

  • ‘Us and our Community’ project – The Commissioner will provide a small amount of funding for each Committee to report on how they and other children and/or young people see their community, what they like and what could be different. They will also complete an activity of their choice that is related to their report.
  • Commissioner’s Face to Face report – The Committees will be involved in the design and evaluation of the Commissioner’s annual reports for children and young people.
  • Commenting on projects – People who work for the Commissioner will involve the Committees in one or two of the Commissioner’s projects.

Come back to this page during 2010 to find out more and see what the Commissioner’s Committees have to say.
