This is a permanent full-time position commencing 2 January 2025.

Work in a team dedicated to the wellbeing of WA children and young people in WA.

Through engagement, monitoring, policy and research, the team at the office of the Commissioner for Children and Young People advocate for and promote the views of West Australian children and young people. 

This position is looking for research, evaluation and project management professionals who are passionate about issues affecting children and young people. The role involves leading various projects and initiatives, consulting directly with, and running large scale surveys for children and young people.

Other responsibilities:

  • Developing project plans and budgets for a range of projects.

  • Responding to changing priorities and competing demands in a busy office.

  • Analysis and report writing

The skills we are looking for are:

  • Research and analysis skills so that you can understand, conceptualise and evaluate data and complex issues that affect children and young people.

  • Strong communication capabilityyou showcase in writing papers, briefings and reports. You are also able to engage and consult with children and young people, and present research findings to a range of stakeholders.

  • Experience with the delivery of programs, allowing you to develop and deliver project plans within agreed timeframes.

  • Commitment to the wellbeing of children and young people that creates an openness and enthusiasm for what’s possible now and in the future.

  • An experienced professional who is confident in analysing and responding to policy developments and trends.

  • Project management.

  • A great writer.

  • Someone who loves working in a dynamic and fast-paced office.

  • A passionate advocate for children and young people.
