The Commissioner's office has child-friendly meeting spaces available for activities that support the participation of children and young people under the age of 18 years.
The rooms are currently unavailable until early April 2017.
The office has two rooms - a boardroom and meeting room separated by a retractable wall.
Examples of approved room usage includes:
- meetings of reference or advisory groups which include children and young people under the age of 18 years.
- government or non-government agencies holding consultations or meeting with children and young people under the age of 18 years.
Other proposals for meeting room usage will be considered if they actively engage children and young people under the age of 18 years in decision making or consultation processes.
Meeting rooms are available weekdays between 4.30pm and 8.30pm and on weekends. The meeting room can accommodate 16 and the boardroom can accommodate 20. A removable wall can combine both of these rooms to create a combined room that accommodates 45.
The meeting rooms are available free-of-charge for suitable organisations, subject to the operational needs of the Commissioner's office.
