Mrs Tonya McCusker AM
Mrs Tonya McCusker AM is a Director and the Administrator of the McCusker Charitable Foundation.
Mrs McCusker studied ballet in Monte Carlo and danced with the Australian Ballet Company before completing a Law Degree at UWA and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Henley Management College. She worked in Hong Kong and China, before returning to WA as the Business Development Manager of the Leeuwin Youth Development Foundation, where she oversaw programs in leadership, team building and development of young people’s self-esteem.
The McCusker Charitable Foundation provides funding of up to $5 million each year to charitable organisations working to improve the lives of Western Australians. The Foundation focuses on medical research, education, the arts, environment, aged care and youth programs.
Mrs McCusker’s commitment to reducing alcohol-related harm in young people led to her becoming an advisory board member for the McCusker Centre for Action on Alcohol and Youth. She was a director of the Minderoo Foundation from 2015 to 2021 and is a Telethon Trustee.
From 2011 to 2014, as wife of the Governor of Western Australia, she was Patron of more than 100 organisations. She is married to the Honorable Malcolm McCusker AC CVO QC and has two sons and a daughter.
