WA Family Pathways Network 2016 Conference

I was pleased to address the WA Family Pathways Network conference today.

I was heartened by the turnout and the commitment from so many people in taking time to discuss ways to ethically and effectively hear the voices of children whose parents are separating.

I outlined the work of my office in advocating for the more than 586,000 children and young people in our State, more than one quarter of whom live outside of the metropolitan area.

This conference was an opportunity to discuss how my office is working closely with families, community groups, government agencies, including the Family Court, and non-government organisations to ensure that the work of the office is well-informed and that we bring a community-wide focus to children's wellbeing.
