Family separation and family law consultation

The Commissioner has consulted with children and young people aged 12-21 on their experiences of family separation and their ideas to improve support for young people, services, and the family law system.

Findings will be published in December 2018 and provided to the Family Court of WA and the Australian Law Reform Commission’s national review of the family law system.

Please note that the Commissioner has consulted only with young people, not parents or other adult extended family members. Parents or other adults can provide their views directly to the Australian Law Reform Commission by 13 November 2018.

All contributions will be kept in confidence by the Commissioner’s office and no young people will be identified in the consultation findings.
