Survey to Shape WA Play Strategy
Survey to Shape WA Play Strategy
Play Matters Collective and the Commissioner for Children and Young People are gathering input for consideration in the development of the WA Play Strategy.
The strategy, being developed by the Office of Early Childhood, aims to champion children's rights to play and highlight its role in health, wellbeing, learning and development. It will guide improvements to play opportunities across communities, services and government.
The Commissioner, on behalf of Play Matters Collective, is distributing a statewide survey to capture how children and young people experience play in their daily lives. Schools are being encouraged to share the survey to help ensure a broad and representative range of voices across Western Australia are heard.
There are different surveys for early childhood and primary school children aged three to 12 years and high school students aged 13 to 18 years.
WA Commissioner Dr Jacqueline McGowan-Jones is the patron of Play Matters Collective.
