Corporate information

The work of the Commissioner’s office is guided by the Commissioner for Children and Young People Act 2006 (the Act).

To help the Commissioner deliver the functions and requirements outlined in the Act, a range of plans and policies, which assist with the day-to-day running of the office, have been developed.

Strategic Plan 2024-2027

The Strategic Plan 2024-2027 outlines the focus areas of the Commissioner and guides the work of the Commissioner's office.

The Commissioner's Annual Report 2023-24 and Erratum has been tabled in State Parliament.

Freedom of Information 

The Freedom of Information Act 1992 has been developed to allow people to have access to government documents where appropriate and to let the public make sure personal information in documents is accurate, complete and up-to-date and not misleading.

As part of their responsibility under the Freedom of Information Act 1992, the Commissioner has prepared an Information Statement.

Public interest Disclosure

Anyone can make disclosure if they believe something is wrong with the way a public authority, public officer or public sector contractor is acting, or may be going to act, which is of public interest.
