Commissioner's Update - April 2015

Guiding principles outlined in the Commissioner for Children and Young People Act (2006), include that “the contributions made by children and young people to the community should be recognised for their value and merit; (and) the views of children and young people on all matters affecting them should be given serious consideration and taken into account...”

One of the highlights of the Commissioner’s role is having the opportunity to meet and talk with children and young people from many different backgrounds across the State.

You can read about many of these meetings in this newsletter, and I thank the children and young people, and the people that work to support them, for their time, and for sharing with me their valuable insights into matters that are important to them, and other young people.
