Commissioner's Update - December 2020

What a year we have had.

Many children and young people shared with me during the COVID-19 pandemic how they were being impacted and what supports were helping them. Most told me they felt safe and grateful for where they lived, however some expressed concerns for their mental health and their families.

I have shared these important views with government leaders to ensure children and young people are considered when making decisions. I thank all of the children and young people who spoke out about how they were faring.
