Commissioner's Update - September 2015

Following the tabling of the report “Listen To Us”: Using the views of WA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people to improve policy and service delivery, I have spent much time promoting and discussing the themes of the report extensively with key stakeholders and within the community, encouraging decision makers to respond to what Aboriginal children and young people said by making practical changes to programs and services.

During the next month, I look forward to hearing more from young people during Children’s Week and on my upcoming visit to the Pilbara, and progressing my office’s consultation with culturally and linguistically diverse children and young people.
