Happy holidays to all

I’d like to wish everyone a happy and safe festive season!

I truly appreciate the opportunity to advocate on behalf of the almost 600,000 WA children and young people to ensure they are happy, safe, valued and have a voice in the community.

Many expressed positive insights into their lives this year, and shared with my office their hopes and dreams for the future.

One student from the Goldfields region told me in my office's recent We Are 10 project that growing up means “us children are one step closer to making a difference in the world. We may be small but we have big hearts.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Thank you to the agencies, services providers and schools with whom I have worked with this year for your support. Let’s continue to work together to protect and empower WA children and young people.

I look forward to working with you in 2018.
