Nominations open for Commissioner’s Participate Award

Nominations are now open for the WA Youth Awards’ Commissioner for Children and Young People Participate Award.

This award recognises a young person between the ages of 12 and 17 who has shown dedication to making a positive change in their community and who has also inspired other young people to get involved.

Commissioner for Children and Young People, Colin Pettit, said he is looking forward to hearing from young people who are making a difference in communities all over WA.

“I have sponsored the Participate Award for eight years now, and it is clear there are many outstanding stories to be shared,” Colin said.

“It is an important function of my office to promote the contributions made by children and young people and recognise them for their value and merit, so I feel privileged to be able to acknowledge young people who are building stronger communities and improving the lives of others.”

Nominate someone you know now. Nominations close on Thursday, 31 August 2017.

The WA Youth Awards 2016 are presented by the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) in partnership with the Department of Communities.
