Nominations open for Commissioner's Participate Award

Do you know an inspiring young person?

Nominations are now open for the WA Youth Awards’ Commissioner for Children and Young People Participate Award.

This award recognises a young person between the ages of 12 and 17 who has shown dedication to making a positive change in their community and who has also inspired other young people to get involved.

Commissioner for Children and Young People, Colin Pettit, said he is looking forward to hearing from young people who are making a difference in communities all over WA.

“I have sponsored the Participate Award for nine years now, and it is clear there are many outstanding stories to be shared,” Colin said.

“It is an important function of my office to promote the contributions of children and young people, so I feel privileged to be able to acknowledge young people who are committed to their community and improving the lives of others.”

Nominate someone you know. Nominations close on Thursday, 6 September 2018.

The WA Youth Awards 2018 are presented by the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) in partnership with the Department of Communities.
