Resources released - Listening to the views of Aboriginal children seminar

Resources from the Commissioner’s fully-booked seminar ‘Listening to the view of Aboriginal children and young people are now available online.

The seminar provided a rich source of information about the Commissioner’s consultation project and the content of the report "Listen to Us", which was developed to support government and non-government agencies in their work to deliver effective, culturally secure programs and services.

At the event held on 11 November, former acting Commissioner Jenni Perkins and four guest speakers spoke about how inspiration can be drawn from the views of Aboriginal children and young people and how this information can be used to better support their wellbeing.

Tabled in the WA Parliament in August by the Commissioner for Children and Young People WA, “Listen To Us” is a landmark report based on a consultation with 1,271 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people across the State.

All videos and resources can also be viewed via the Commissioner's Consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people page or on the Commissioner’s YouTube channel.
