Work plan outlines significant projects

The Commissioner has released his work plan for 2016 – 2018.

Linked with the Commissioner’s recently published strategic plan, the work plan outlines the office’s major projects and initiatives, as well as ‘horizon projects’ that form part of the Commissioner’s long-term vision.

Key initiatives include the Engagement in Education project, a second major project involving Aboriginal children and young people, and reports and advocacy concerning the vulnerable children and young people involved in the out-of-home care and youth justice systems.

Longer term projects include work to better understand the pathways and experiences of young people under the age of 16 years who are homeless, and a consultation with children and young people who have experience of legal processes with the aim of identifying ways in which courts can ensure their views are heard and responded to.

The Commissioner’s Work Plan 2016-2018 is available in the What we do section.
