Speaking Out Survey 2025

In 2025, we visited more than 17,000 children and young people across Western Australia to hear directly about their experiences, perspectives and wellbeing. Our staff travelled to 122 schools across metropolitan, regional and remote areas to connect with students face-to-face.

The Speaking Out Survey 2025: Summary Report shares what students in Years 4 to 12 told us about what is working well in their lives, the challenges they face and the changes they want to see.

The report provides insights into children and young people's health, mental health, education, safety, community life and overall wellbeing. For the first time, it also includes five recommendations from the Commissioner, directly informed by the experiences and priorities shared by children and young people.
