Child Protection Week honours for South West service

During Child Protection Week I was pleased to present the WA Play Your Part award to an organising working to promote the healthy development of children in the South West region.

Investing In Our Youth was recognised by NAPCAN in their national awards for their efforts to implement programs in response to local needs across the South West community.

The organisation, headed by Ian Anstee, does this through a local advisory committee and parent surveys. Investing In Our Youth also runs a variety of programs and two Child and Parent Centres in Carey Park and Collie.

Child and Parent Centres are important resources for the community, providing support and increasing the access families have to a range of important early childhood services.

Child Protection Week is an important annual event coordinated by NAPCAN to help raise awareness that everyone has a part to play in creating safer communities for children.
