Commissioner's Update - May 2019

An important part of being able to respond to the needs of WA young people is to better understand what young people themselves feel is and isn’t working well in their lives.

In March I announced my first Speaking Out Survey of WA children and young people. The survey will give students from approximately 150 schools across WA the opportunity to share their views on a range of wellbeing factors – family, friends, education, culture, as well as being respected and acknowledged. Surveying is now underway and I look forward to publishing the findings next year.
