Nominations for the WA Youth Awards are now open

Acting Commissioner Jenni Perkins encourages you to support an outstanding young person by nominating them for their contributions to the community in the 2015 WA Youth Awards.

Established in 1999, the awards also celebrate the youth groups and organisations that strive for excellence in serving the state’s young people.

The Youth Awards Participate category is supported by the Commissioner, which acknowledges a young person who has shown particular dedication to make a positive change in their community, and who has inspired other young people to do the same.

Ms Perkins said she is looking forward to receiving nominations for this category.

“These nominations demonstrate the many different and interesting ways that WA young people are making their communities better places.

“I congratulate each and every nominated young person on their hard work and commitment. Keep up the good work.”

The Commissioner’s Participate Award is open to young people aged 12 to 17 years. All other Youth Awards categories are open to 12 to 25 year-olds.

Nominations are open until 2 October and winners will be announced at a ceremony at Crown Perth on 27 November.

More information on how to nominate is available from the WA Youth Awards Website.

The WA Youth Awards are presented by the Youth Affairs Council of WA in partnership with the Department of Local Government and Communities, and supported by Lotterywest.
