Positive engagement in education is one of the most vital determinants of a person’s lifelong health and wellbeing.
In a number of previous consultations, children and young people themselves have told the Commissioner about the importance of school and the role of education in affecting their wellbeing.

Following on from SOS21, the Commissioner released a new report in December 2022 focusing on the voices of Aboriginal children and young people living in remote WA who participated in the survey.

To celebrate the Commissioner's office's 10 year anniversary in late 2017, a consultation is being held with 10-year-olds across Western Australia.
Addressing Bullying Behaviour in Children and Young People 2015
During Children's Week 2015 the Commissioner held a free public forum for parents, teachers and other professionals about effective methods of reducing bullying behaviour, which included a presentation by Winthrop Professor Donna Cross from the Telethon Kids Institute.
