I was very pleased to be announced as the new Commissioner for Children and Young People WA, commencing on 16 November.

I would like to acknowledge the work of Jenni Perkins who, as acting Commissioner for the past two years, achieved much for children and young people in WA. In particular, her focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and the consultation report “Listen To Us” tabled in the WA Parliament last August was a significant achievement...
