Ted Wilkes' tireless work recognised

Associate Professor Ted Wilkes AO, an Ambassador for Children and Young People, is the 2016 recipient of the AMA (WA) President's Award.

Commissioner Colin Pettit said the award was much deserved and recognised Ted's tireless dedication to the wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people in Western Australia.

The AMA (WA) described Ted as “someone who has worked relentlessly to bridge the gap between two cultures and has helped improve health services to Indigenous West Australians”.

Ted is currently the leader of the Aboriginal Research Program at Curtin University’s National Drug Research Institute.
